Updates

Important Changes

  • NEW Exploration: Biomes are now larger with more complex layouts to encourage exploration and variety. Systems like enemy placement and economy have been re-tuned to support this scale.
  • NEW Map which allows you to see your surroundings, know the location of important entities and objects and teleport to you teammates. Press G (keyboard) or SELECT (gamepad) to open it.
  • NEW Minimap to see your immediate surroundings and secret hints.
  • NEW Volumetric clouds: Replacing the flat sea of clouds under the levels. In the graphics panel, it can be disabled using "Clouds" setting.
  • NEW Rare items: Frend’s Loyalty Program has expanded! Unlock a new Altar in the Ark to spend Cogs for a higher chance at enhanced items. Complete all 3 stages to unlock a unique skin variant.
  • NEW Amplifiers: Most Gifts and Hexes now have levels. Amplifiers are a new item category found in expeditions that allow you to increase the level of one of your Gifts or Hexes.
  • NEW Enemy variants in Cloudy and higher difficulty modes in Golem Gardens, Factory, Fungal Swamp and Rat Village. Including a new Boss in Golem Gardens!
  • NEW Islands & Caverns in the Lost Archipelago
  • Alterattack Tutorials Reworked: We’ve overhauled the training grounds. Entry gates are now blocked by Forcefields; the color of the field tells you which level of Alterattack is required to break through.
  • Onboarding narrative updated: New lines are added to the little girl in early game. She also has an updated model.
  • The Inventory is now merged into the Main Menu

QoL

  • NEW Quick Gear Swap & Drop: You can now swap (by pressing) or drop (by holding) your gear:
    - Weapons with 5 (keyboard) / D-PAD LEFT (controller)
    - and Trinkets with 6 (keyboard) / D-PAD DOWN (controller)
  • NEW Mouse Cursor Option: You can now change the cursor size in the Accessibility panel of the Options menu.
  • NEW Accessibility Options:
    - Transparency of Size+ weapons
    - Chromatic aberration intensity
    - Player silouhette behind objects toggle
    - Low life intensity
    - Received hit VFXs intensity
  • NEW Graphics Options: Brightness & Contrast sliders. An improved user experience with immediate feedback is planned.
  • UI: Confirmation popups now select "Cancel" by default to avoid triggering unwanted things when mashing the button.
  • Send Feedback Button: Is now placed in the main pause menu list to be easier to find
  • Single player / UI: Codex and Codex pages menu now pauses the game in solo mode.
  • Co-op: Teleport to team: default binding changed to CTRL (keyboard) and SELECT (controller).
  • Co-op: Voice Chat:
    - Voice Chat is using the "Push-to-talk" mode by default (not applied on previous saves)
    - "Mute when Joining" and "Push-to-talk" default bindings changed to 4 (keyboard) and RIGHT STICK PRESSED (controller).
  • Ark: Counters: Now only counts content that has to be unlocked Version 0.9.0.2

Balancing

  • Pulsor:
    - Default Pulsor is now way faster when held
    - Banger Pulsor is now faster when held and its dashes' length are increased when out of combat
  • Memory Link: When you die in front of a boss, we'll ensure that the Memory Link will be placed in a boss room during your next Expedition.
  • Gifts: Full Blast: Added a 50% Blast damage bonus.
  • Hexes: The increased dash cooldown negative effect is now only applied in combat.
  • Payment Gates: You can now pay their fee by spending Cogs you previously banked.
  • Ark: Memory stones are now placed in new islands.
  • Rarity: Reduced max chances from 75% / 60% / 40% / 20% to 60% / 45% / 30% / 15%. Version 0.9.0.1

Bugfixes

  • Gifts: Scythe: Fixed an interaction between the Merge scythe and Bonus scythe duration gifts causing to have irregular scythe durations
  • Enemies: Fixed enemies being able to keep their I-frames while being frozen
  • Visuals:
    - Fixed shadow popping
    - Fixed "pixelated" light artifacts (most noticeable at the Rat Village entrance).
  • Co-op / Softlock: Fixed softlock where you could teleport to an area not available to you yet

Optimization

  • Upgraded game and rendering engines to the latest versions to improve stability and performance
  • Optimized shadows:
    - “High quality” is optimized, so more configurations should be able to use this setting.
    - “Medium quality” is downgraded, so one can have shadows at a lower cost.
    - “Low quality” completely disables shadows, significantly reducing CPU and GPU usage.
